Community Groups
Parish & Town Councils
Parish and Town Councils are encouraged to spend time considering the risks in their area and preparing locally for incidents and emergencies that may affect the community.
In the absence of a Parish or Town Council, this function can be fulfilled by structured community groups in liaison with the appropriate Local Authority. Working closely with these structures and partner agencies.
In support of the Parish/Town Council planning process, an Emergency Plan template is available and the CSW Resilience Team is on hand for any further advice or questions you may have. Flood Action Groups
In many areas across the sub-region, flood affected communities are working together with the Parish/Town Council and responsible agencies to reduce their flood risk and increase local resilience.
In support of this process a Flood Resilience Plan template and Guidance Notes are available and the CSW Resilience Team is on hand for any further advice or questions you may have, contact us to find out more.
To get involved with a group, volunteer or find out more about current arrangements in your area, contact your local Flood Action Group. If there isn’t a group in your area and you’re interested in starting one yourself, guidance from the National Flood Forum will give you tips and advice on where to begin and what to think about.
